Description
Tortara are a bipedal reptilian species that have a large shell dominating their frame with patterned wide set of muscular arms and legs with 4 digits each extending out from their shell. They have dry patterned skin and long flexible necks. Both their arms and their legs and their head can fully retreat inside of their shells and flexible “hatches” close over the openings in their shells when they do so.

Description
Great Tortara have larger shells than their cousins and earth toned colorations on their skin and shells. Their eyes are most often shades of brown or amber.
Superior Shell
Shell Retreat: You can use 3 meters of movement to retreat into your shell. You gain +4 to your AC while inside your shell but you cannot take Actions or make any Rolls other than CON Saving Throws while in there. You can use 3 meters of movement to exit your shell.

Slow and Steady
You have a slower Movement Speed but you are exceptionally hard to Knock Prone.
If you would be Knocked Prone you can Roll a STR or CON Saving Throw with a DC equal to 10. If you Pass you avoid being Knocked Prone. You Require 5 Meters of Movement and a Successful DEX Saving throw with a DC of 12 to Stand from being Knocked Prone. This is not required when you go prone via your own movement.
Tortara Brain
Tortara brain design and size is drastically different from other creatures of their size. Because of their “underdeveloped” brains they have difficulty understanding complex emotions but are able to remain active briefly even if they lose complete brain function.
Suffer a miscellaneous -2 penalty to Insight Skill Rolls. You can continue acting after being reduced to 0 HP or below and are suffering from the dying condition. You may continue taking 1 action per turn for a number of rounds equal to ½ your CON Modifier(minimum of 1 round).
Shield Shell
In addition to the other Benefits your Shell offers you can utilize your shell as a shield. When you use your Action to Dodge you Double the benefits of doing so(+4 to DEX Saving Throws Caused by Target and Infer a -4 Penalty on Attacks that Target makes vs you).
When you use your Action to Dodge, an Allied Creature Adjacent to you and further away from the Target of your Dodge then you also gains the Defensive Benefits of a standard Dodge(+2 to DEX Saving Throws Caused by Target and Infer a -2 Penalty on Targeted Attacks that Target makes vs you).

Description
Spiny Tortara have large and distinctive spikes arranged facing outward on their shells that are both intimidating and deadly. They typically have darker colorations on their skin and shells, ranging from Black to Dark Green, Wine Red and Midnight Blue. Their eyes range in color from green to red, blue and black.
